Recruitment Notice: Property intern leading to paralegal

We are seeking a property intern leading to paralegal to join our busy property team at our London office.

Zhong Lun’s London office was established in 2012 and currently has a team of over 40 professionals led by five partners. In 2016, we were awarded the Law Firm of the Year Award at The Lawyer European Awards. The strategy of Zhong Lun’s London office is to provide combined legal services in English and Chinese law from a single office in the City.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Providing general support to the property team (opening new cases, scanning documents);

  • Assisting in follow-up with clients (i.e., chasing responses by telephones or emails);

  • Assisting in exchange contracts and the follow-up task;

  • Dealing and liaising with clients regarding deposit payments (second or third payments) on new build property matters;

  • Drafting and submitting UN1 applications for new build property matters;

  • Assisting with application with Land Registry;

  • Assisting case handlers with completion and post completion work (filing SDLT return, AP1 application, preparing title deeds pack, closing files).

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

  • Excellent Mandarin and English skills in both spoken & written; [mandatory]

  • Law graduate who has preferably completed the LPC course and has had prior experience working in property law matters;

  • Excellent case management skills;

  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

  • The ability to deal with queries promptly and efficiently, providing excellent client care service at all times;

  • Excellent communication skills, attention to details;

  • A high energy and organised individual who is comfortable working in a busy office;

  • Able to work within a large team environment whilst still capable of working on their own initiative;

  • Proactive and enthusiastic.
